Dive Permits are required to dive at Aliwal Shoal. They are obtainable from your local Post Office They can be bought monthly or annually and are the responsibility of each diver. On 1st June 2009 Oceans Alive Diving owned by Carl Elkington and Quo Vadis owned by Juan Pereira joined forces to create Oceanworx, a fantastic new scuba diving charter situated on the same premises as Sea Fever Dive Lodge and Hidden Reef Restaurant in Umkomaas. We are ideally located for daily charters to Aliwal Shoal and the two nearby wrecks 'Nebo' and 'Produce' We dive the World Famous Aliwal Shoal where the Aghulas Current runs south along the east coast of Africa and brings with it warm water, nutrients and a huge diversity of tropical sea life. Our three 8m rubber inflatable boats (ribs) are fitted with twin 85hp Yamaha engines, and maintained to high levels of service to ensure your safety at all times. Our Owner / Skippers Carl Elkington and Juan Pereira have over 30 years combined experience launching on the East Coast of South Africa so relax and enjoy the thrilling launch that Aliwal Shoal offers all it's divers. We will refund payment taken for dives that we cancel due to weather or circumstances beyond your control. Due to the logistics of running a successful dive centre and in order to ensure we schedule our launches efficiently, please advise us a minimum of 24hrs before your dive time if you need to cancel. Should you wish to cancel your dives at short notice, you may still be charged for them. Dives cancelled due to being cold, seasick or hungover do not qualify and you may still be charged.
